Faculty Certification

Ivy Tech Community College expects all of its online course instructors to be certified to teach online. The College offers its own certification course, IVYC 101 - Online Faculty Certification, to achieve this goal.

IVYC 101 offers a combination of theory-based and hands-on instruction in teaching online and using the Blackboard Academic Suite system. The course is six weeks long and is fairly intense. However, faculty who successfully complete the course will gain insight into the appropriate education of students in an online environment, as well as experience creating, modifying, and posting items and content within Blackboard.

Faculty interested in enrolling in the online certification class should receive permission from their program chair. Seats in the certification class are limited.
